Your voice.
Your moment.

Speak now. Find the words later.

Keep the voice.
Keep the words, too.

A moment from a trip. A thought before sleep. Record it while it is fresh, edit the words later, and search the transcript when you want to return.

Your original recording and editable text live in the same entry. Transcription depends on your device, system, language and permissions. If on-device recognition is unavailable, keep the audio and type your own text. The app does not switch to cloud recognition.

A thought is never far away

Four ways in. One place for your thoughts.

The in-app microphone

Tap the microphone in the Entries bottom bar to create a voice entry.

iPhone Control Center

Open the app once. Edit Control Center, choose Add a Control, then find and add Untitled Diary’s voice entry control.

iPhone Lock Screen

Touch and hold the Lock Screen, choose Customize, then replace a bottom control with Untitled Diary’s voice entry control.

Siri and Shortcuts

In Shortcuts, add Untitled Diary’s “Start Voice Entry” action. Give the shortcut a memorable name, then run it with Siri.

Control Center and Lock Screen controls require iPhone with iOS 18 or later. System actions open the app to record; unlock your device when required and grant permissions on first use. Siri does not keep listening in the background. Finish an existing edit or recording before starting another.

Entries

A sentence is an entry, too.

Keep text, photos, Live Photos, voice recordings and longer writing together. Find past entries by their words or transcripts.

Collections

A little order, if you want it.

Organize entries your way, or leave them unfiled. Protect private collections with system authentication.

Bookmarks

Keep a link. Keep its context.

Paste the original text and URLs. The app attempts a local preview of the first website; your text and links remain if it fails.

Treasures

Little things, with a story.

Save a cover, photo gallery and little text notes for objects that matter. Each keepsake can have its own privacy lock.

iPhone + Mac

Capture on iPhone.
Settle into writing on Mac.

Capture a moment on iPhone, then use a separate writing window on Mac with adjustable reading and writing sizes. Content is saved locally and syncs through your own Apple iCloud private database. No app account required.

Use the corresponding Apple Account and enable iCloud access on your devices. Create, edit and read locally available content offline. Undownloaded attachments and sync need a network. Timing depends on the system, network and available iCloud storage.

A space for yourself

Your private space.
Clearly explained.

No app sign-up

The app has no ads or behavioral tracking, and does not send diaries to third-party AI services.

Recording and transcription are processed on device

Microphone and speech recognition permissions are requested when you use those features. If local recognition is unavailable, the app does not switch to cloud transcription.

Sync through your own iCloud

Entries and attachments may sync to your Apple iCloud private database. Apple provides this service according to your account, region and system settings.

Link previews visit the website

Your device visits the URL you provide to attempt a preview. The website and its resource providers may receive your IP address, request time and URL parameters.

A privacy lock controls access

Face ID, Touch ID or system authentication protects access inside the app. This is not end-to-end encryption. Protect your device, Apple Account and backups.

Pro offers a yearly subscription or a one-time lifetime unlock. Local prices, available plans and trial eligibility are shown by the App Store.

Eligible users can start a 7-day free trial of the yearly subscription by confirming through Apple’s purchase flow. Downloading does not start a trial. Unless canceled, it becomes a paid yearly subscription and renews annually. Manage or cancel it in Apple Account subscription settings.

Pro does not include additional iCloud storage. If a subscription ends, existing content remains accessible and editable; free limits apply to new additions.

A few things you might wonder

Questions, answered.

Can I write a diary by voice and keep the audio?

Yes. Tap the microphone in the Entries bottom bar. Your recording is kept, with editable, searchable text when on-device speech recognition is supported and permitted.

How do I add Control Center and Lock Screen controls?

Open the app once after installation. Edit iPhone Control Center, choose Add a Control and find the voice entry control. For the Lock Screen, touch and hold, choose Customize and replace a bottom control. Requires iOS 18 or later. Unlock before recording and grant permissions on first use.

How do I start recording with Siri or Shortcuts?

Add Untitled Diary’s “Start Voice Entry” action in Shortcuts, name the shortcut, then run it with Siri. It opens the app to record; Siri does not keep listening in the background. Action names follow the system language and permissions are required on first use.

Is transcription sent to a third-party service?

The app requires on-device recognition and does not switch to cloud transcription. Recordings and other entries can still sync through your own Apple iCloud; local transcription does not mean all data stays on a single device.

What if on-device recognition fails?

Keep the audio and enter or edit text manually. Check microphone and speech recognition permissions. Transcription availability depends on your device, system and language; accuracy is not guaranteed.

Can I use it offline?

Create, edit and read locally available content, and record on your device. Transcription still depends on local recognition availability. Undownloaded attachments, link previews and iCloud sync need a network.

How do iPhone and Mac sync?

Content is saved locally and syncs through your own iCloud private database. Use the corresponding Apple Account and enable iCloud access, with no separate app account. Timing depends on the system, network and storage.

Do voice features require Pro?

No. Recording, on-device transcription, Control Center, Lock Screen, Siri and Shortcuts capture are included for free. Pro increases content limits and adds premium sharing card exports and a badge.

Why did the voice action not start a new recording?

Check device authentication and microphone permission, and whether an edit, recording or blocking dialog is already active. The app protects your current work; finish it before starting another recording.
